    The first batch of students of 2nd year MBBS joined the department of pathology on 1st August 2011. Total 59 theory classes, 35 practical classes, 5 tutorials and one integrated teaching programme were taken in this period. The student presented and actively participated in 2 (two) different sessions of short topic discussion related to important topic of general pathology. Midterm internal assessment test was conducted in the month of October an terminal internal assessment examination (both theory and practical) of 3rd semester was conducted in the month of December 2011.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The Department of Pathology has successfully conducted Puducherry \u201cPathologists\u2019 meet Feb2012\u201d on 11-02-2012 at 2.30pm in Jenner Theatre, IGMC & RI. Senior & Junior faculty members (30 nos), pathology residents and PGs (25 nos) from Jipmer, PIMS, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College, Aarupadai Veedu Medical college, GH, Sri Manukula Vinayakar Medical College, Sri Lakshmi Narayana Medical College and Indira Gandhi Medical college actively participated in the meeting.<\/p>

    Eight interesting cases like oncogenic generalised osteomalaeia due to phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor, angio myofibroblastoma of vaginal wall, chondroblastic osteosarcoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma of minor salivary gland (oral cavity) etc are discussed. An interesting picture quiz was conducted for PGs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
