The Department of Biochemistry is situated in the ground floor of the college block. The department is spacious and has individual rooms for the faculty members. It has two Demonstration rooms fitted with over-head projector and LCD.<\/p>

The department has a well- stocked library for use of faculty, tutors and students.<\/p>

The Students\u2019 laboratory is well \u2013 equipped for conducting practical classes and has all instruments and facilities required for the same.<\/p>

The Research laboratory in the department houses the sophisticated instruments, namely the spectrophotometer, Elisa reader and the electrophoresis apparatus. Faculty members in the department are actively involved in various intra and inter departmental research.<\/p>

The department conducts routine theory and practical classes for the students of I MBBS. Due importance is given towards teaching the subject and evaluating the learning outcome. Emphasis is given to clinical correlation of biochemical processes with the diseases from the very beginning of the session itself the department conducts quiz competitions, seminars, competitive group question \u2013 answer sessions and poster presentation competition, as a part of the teaching \u2013 learning programme. The department staunchly believes in not only imparting knowledge to the students but also in their all round development.<\/p>

The Clinical Biochemistry laboratory is situated in the hospital block. It caters to the various investigations required for the out – patients and the in-patients in the hospital 24 hours a day.<\/p>

The laboratory is well equipped with modern state – of – the \u2013 art auto analysers for ensuring efficiency and quality in analyses of samples and reporting of results. The department is committed towards providing quality service to the patients attending the hospital.<\/p>
