Organising Department: Community Medicine<\/p>

An integrated teaching of Department of Anatomy, Community Medicine and Pediatrics was organised in February 2011 for 2010-2011 Batch (2nd Semester).<\/p>

Strategy: 3 sessions were allotted for this activity.<\/p>

First two sessions (3 hrs each) focused on hands on training in Anthropometry and assessing developmental milestones in children 0-12 y. Students were taken in 2 batches to the OPD of Dept of Pediatrics were in they were further subdivided into smaller groups and were asked to examine children in different age groups. Handouts on Growth and Development were also made available to every student.<\/p>

Students were taught the technique of using and interpreting WHO Growth Charts (2000).<\/p>

Last session included lecture on Antenatal Growth by Department of Anatomy and this was followed by student\u2019s presentation on Anthropometry and developmental milestones of children examined earlier. Question answer session was moderated by Department of Pediatrics and Community Medicine.<\/p>

At the end there was a Video Demonstration on Anthropometric Techniques to reinforce the skills acquired during this learning activity.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
